I’m just getting in touch with you to let you know about a disability arts event that might be of interest to you and your members and contacts.

CRIPtic is a revolutionary theatrical showcase taking place in the Pit at London’s Barbican Centre on October 11th and 12th. It takes a political look at D/deafness and disability in today’s society, and we’re keen to encourage D/deaf and disabled people to attend.

Curated by experienced disabled performer and poet Jamie Hale, CRIPtic comprises their hope-filled solo (NOT DYING, written and performed by Hale) followed by a mixed bill of work by D/deaf and disabled artists, including Signkid, Jackie Hagan, Amelia Cavallo, Katie Walters & Elle Chante, Donna Williams (Fri only), and Crispin Lord & Jessi Parrott.

This unique, vibrant and eclectic show features D/deaf and disabled artists who communicate the themes of anger, fortitude and joy running through Hale’s solo showthrough short sets of music, dance and spoken word.

Together, CRIPtic recreates deeply personal experiences rarely represented on stage in a spirited, celebratory atmosphere.

It is set to be an exciting and thought-provoking theatre experience not to be missed!

You can purchase tickets for the show NOW by visiting:

Please also share this event with anyone who may be interested in attending, and consider mentioning it in your newsletter or on your website – we’re really keen to promote CRIPtic and the talented performers!

If you want to run an article on CRIPtic, or interview the curator, Jamie Hale can be reached on . For press information, see:

On Friday 11th the performance will be BSL interpreted and audio-described, with a post-show talk. On Saturday 12th, the performance will be captioned.

Do get in touch if you have any questions about CRIPtic

Kind regards

On behalf of the CRIPtic team
