TOGETHER 2012

Artists' News from Together! 2012 CIC

The Together! 2018 Open Exhibition opens tomorrow 2 April 2019 in the Rotunda Gallery at Beckton Globe Library, 1 Kingsford Way, London E6 5JQ. Opening hours Monday to Friday, 10am-8pm; Saturday 10.30am-8pm. Our annual Open Exhibition brings together amateur, community, emerging and professional Disabled artists with a Newham connection, with guaranteed acceptance of one family friendly work. We are very pleased to be working with the Beckton Neighbourhood Team again, following the success of our street art and human rights events during the Together! 2018 Disability History Month Festival. Cellist & Music Club member Jo-anne Cox invites you to Defiant Journey, an experimental performance on Thursday 11 April at 2.30pm (2pm for a touch tour) at Stratford Circus Arts Centre, Theatre Square, London E15 1BX. The performance takes place as part of Jo-anne's research and development project Engage and Interact, produced in association with Together! 2012 and Disability Arts Online and funded by Arts Council England. Engage and Interact combines Jo-anne's music with interactive lighting developed by Charles Matthews, and incorporates the tactile sound systems developed in our two-year Vibrations project with Canadian artists. Free but booking is required. Read more about Engage and Interact in Jo-anne's blog on Disability Arts Online: http://disabilityarts.online/author/Jo-anne-Cox/ Our Artistic Director Ju Gosling aka ju90 is performing her poetry at REaD Rhymes Live on Friday 26 April at 8pm at Karamel vegan restaurant, 4 Coburg Rd, Wood Green, London N22 6UJ. Entry £5. REaD Rhymes Live is a new Disability Arts night for 2019 compered by Richard Downes. You can read Ju's poems online here: http://www.ju90.co.uk/poems.htm
